# First things first!

## Setting Your Preferences

This quick video will explain the preferences that you should set before you start using Collection Manager. This isn't mandatory, but setting them first might save you a little time later. You can change your preferences at any time.

### **Check out the Preferences tutorial!**

You may also want to set the delete permissions for products and collections on the preferences screen so you won't have to change them in the middle of sorting a collection.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://cmhelp.innovanet.solutions/getting-started/first-things-first.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.
